This is a good reference book for common conditions found in a Clinic or hospital setting. Herbal formula include additions to common formula and acupuncture point prescription are an addition rather than full explanation. Using differential syndromes for diagnosis practitioners of Chinese Medicine can easily pick up this book and use in clinic.

It's a great book. Clear, concise, complete. I wish it was bigger and had more pathological patterns. But i like this book a lot.This is a must knowledge to have. We used this textbook often in school. It's well written and the information is invaluable.

Book does contain treatment for cancer even acute leukemnia, lymphomas, but it does not mention that western terminology, it goes by the symptoms.Like spleen enlargement, drum hard abdomen - those maybe cancer symptoms.

About the Author

Roger Tarling is Professor of Social Research at the University of Surrey, a post he has occupied since 1996. Before that he was for 23 years a member of the Home Office Research and Planning Unit, the last six as Head of RPU. Throughout his career he has used statistical modelling in research and has had to explain statistical models and the inferences from them to research assistants, policy makers and to the students he has taught. He is a Certified Statistician of the Royal Statistical Society.
