About the Author

Rick Graziani teaches computer science and computer networking courses at Cabrillo College in Aptos, California. Rick has worked and taught in the computer networking and information technology field for almost 30 years. Prior to teaching, Rick worked in IT for various companies including Santa Cruz Operation, Tandem Computers, and Lockheed Missiles and Space Corporation. He holds an M.A. in computer science and systems theory from California State University Monterey Bay. Rick also does consulting work for Cisco and other companies. When Rick is not working, he is most likely surfing. Rick is an avid surfer who enjoys longboarding at his favorite Santa Cruz surf breaks.

 

Allan Johnson entered the academic world in 1999 after 10 years as a business owner/operator to dedicate his efforts to his passion for teaching. He holds both an M.B.A. and an M.Ed. in occupational training and development. He is an information technology instructor at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas. In 2003, Allan began to commit much of his time and energy to the CCNA Instructional Support Team, providing services to Networking Academy instructors worldwide and creating training materials. He now works full time for the Academy in Learning Systems Development.

For each animal, you learn all about the parts of their body, movements, food they eat, babies and even what they're used for. A cute picture compliments each animal, and there's even a question for you to answer about each animal.This is a very informative book for kids who are curious and want to learn about different animals. As an adult, I found the Weird Facts about each animal quite interesting, and I even picked up a few facts I wasn't aware of. I would recommend this to teachers, parents or anyone interested in farm animals.

This a great children's book about animals. Each page is chock full of detailed information about each farm animal. I like how the important facts were broken down into different subtitles, and each animal had their own chapter. All of the information was presented very neatly and well organized. Children will really be able to glean a significant amount of information about the animals from this book, how the animals behave; what they eat; how they move; and much more. I also found the illustrations to be cute and very colorful, they added a fun element to the book. This book would be a great teaching tool. It could be used in many different aspects of the classroom. I like that the book asks the readers questions, this ensures that the book was read thoroughly and the information was retained so that it can be recalled to answer questions later. The book allows the children to really work their reading skills and absorb the context. Teachers will find the setup of the book to be favorable.

I received a copy through Library Thing.This book was very cute, and my 3 year old loved learning about the different animals. He is certainly a little sponge these days, and will sometimes spit out facts learned from this book when we are doing other things, such as eating dinner, riding in the car, or outside playing. He loves looking at the bright colors even when I am not reading it to him.There are lots of facts to learn about the farm animals discussed in the book. There is a question at the end of each chapter with the answers at the end of the book. I noticed that the questions couldn't be found in the text of the book, which I think was a downside. The quiz would have better had the answer been found in the book - to reinforce what the child was reading (or having read to them).

I was pleased to review this book. There are interesting facts about each farm animal by page. There is also a short quiz at the end. I was not so pleased with the format of the book. Because the book detailed farm animal facts, I would like to see "real" pictures of animals maybe in their natural habitats. However, my 3 y.o. seemed to enjoy the pictures.

This book gives plenty of information for any kid looking for information on farm raised animals. A lot of children that live in the cities never get to see a farm or its animals. This book is very detailed and has enough information to explain any of these animals. There are pictures but not photographs. I recommend this book for anyone just wanting to know more about the animals that live on a farm!

This very basic book about farm animals is a great way to introduce children to the animals you may find on a farm. I found the quiz at the end of the book not very helpful, it did not lend any additional value to the book. I also would have liked to have seen realistic pictures of the farm animals in their natural settings.

The information was very good but the format was not that great. The pictures were mostly clip art images and some of them were very poor quality. Like I said though, the information made up for all the down falls. My kids enjoyed the info and are looking forward to visiting a farm when the weather warms up.
